Hangar | South has just launched its brand new eau de parfum, STELLAIRE, created by Dominic Goyer in collaboration with the formidable Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay, who wanted to pay homage to the forest that saw her grow and infuse it with the bliss that inhabits when she thinks of these moments of innocence and connection with nature. There are notes of osmanthus, blue spruce, hemlock, citrus and buddha wood.

However, as smells are often linked to our memories, they provide a form of secure temporal anchoring.

“[Perfumes] make us travel vicariously to different periods of our lives,” whispers my poet colleague Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay, who in November is launching a unisex perfume with scents of blue spruce and citrus fruits, Stellaire4, fruit of a collaboration with Dominic Goyer.

QUIET STRENGTH

Those who are never stressed raise their hands! Cricket sound. That's what we thought.

To support us in our collective quest for inner calm, Hangar South, a company from Saint-Armand, offers accessories made here, specializing in the art of relaxation.

“Having suffered from anxiety for over 10 years, I decided to share the tools that helped me get through the most difficult times,” explains Michaël Giroux-Cassivi, the brains behind the company.

The finds on our radar: the double-density meditation cushion - one side is filled with Canadian buckwheat and the other, organic cotton fibers - and the selection of scents inspired by shinrin yoku, the Japanese forest bathing tradition.

Hangar South, a young company based in the Eastern Townships (in a hangar, hence the name!), offers various products created and manufactured here which all have a common purpose: to reduce stress.

What do we like most about this company?

Inclusivity, enshrined as much in its values as its brand image.

Moreover, the fact that the author Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay participates in her photo campaign adds a touch of unique beauty.

For Valentine's Day, why not treat yourself to a bifunctional meditation cushion (it can be used as a soft yoga block as well as a bolster), a candle, a meditative perfume or a diffuser blend? Take a look at their website to view the full collection.
